Editorial reviews (4 reviews)

I found the layering of the mystery to be particularly intriguing and appealing in Proof of Guilt.

Proof of Guilt is one of Charles Todd’s more complex mysteries, which does not seem to be wrapped up entirely by book’s end. The pace of the proceedings is well-suited to the times in which its story is set... The multifaceted plot is better enjoyed at the slower pace with which it is presented.

Kirkus Reviews : Proof of Guilt (January 30, 2013)

Sturdily if not elegantly plotted, with the ghost of Hamish, the soldier Rutledge ordered executed in the war, still haranguing him.
